Mobility
Visitors to the Toyota Ecoful Town can take part in demonstrations of the Mirai fuel cell vehicle (FCV), as well as other electric modes of transport such as the Winglet and COMS. This facility introduces Toyota City’s comprehensive initiatives in terms of transportation, including proposals of diverse means of mobility designed to reduce the impact on the environment. [Explanation of Terminology] Personal mobility A mode of transportation designed for use by a single person. Such personal mobility devices, developed to help people’s transportation and make life more convenient, are expected to serve as a complement to walking and existing transportation devices.
- COMS
- Toyota COMS is an ultra-compact electric vehicle that can travel about 50 kilometers on city streets on one battery charge. Visitors can test-drive a COMS as an option in the guided tour. A driving license is required to take a demonstration drive.
- Winglet
- A personal transporter, which houses an electric motor, runs on minimum power. Features a harmonious coexistence of pedestrians in terms of size and speed. The rider can operate the vehicle simply by shifting his/her body weight.
