Hydrogen Station
The Hydrogen Station is an energy station necessary for fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), in which visitors will be introduced to special equipment and a hydrogen production process and FCVs. This is an on-site facility equipped with hydrogen production apparatus, which is capable of hydrogen production and storage for about 30 Toyota Mirai FCVs. This also serves as a hydrogen charging station for Toyota City’s official vehicle the Mirai, and fuel-cell-powered Toyota Oiden buses. [Explanation of Terminology] FCV Stands for a fuel cell vehicle, which runs on a chemical reaction between hydrogen stored in an on-board tank and oxygen taken from the air to power an electric motor.
